William John Dennis

August 21, 1947 — May 15, 2021

On Saturday, May 15, 2021, William John Dennis, Jr., loving husband and father of 3 children passed away at the age of 73. Better known as Bill, he was born to William and Elizabeth Dennis in Baltimore, MD. He served in the United States Navy as an Electricians Mate aboard the USS Turner Joy from 1965 to 1968. During his service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and Vietnam Service Medal. He married Diane Lee Nelson on September 25, 1974. They raised a son, Shawn, and a daughter, Shannon, together. He continued his career as an electrician with John Hopkins hospital then the University of Maryland, College Park. He did survive his wife, Diane, after losing her battle with cancer in 1997. On August 18, 2000, Bill married Robin Sherron Wilson. He was preceded in death by his father, William, his mother, Elizabeth, his previous wife, Diane and his daughter, Theresa. He is survived by his wife, Robin, his son, Shawn, daughter-in-law, Toni, his daughter, Shannon, and son-in-law, Jason, and his amazing grandchildren. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Chase United Methodist Church on Ebenezer Road in Chase, Maryland. A reception to follow at 1pm at VFW Post #2621 on Riverside Road in Essex, Maryland. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you please make a donation in honor of William John Dennis, Jr. to the American Lung Association, American Heart Association or VFW.
