Verna "Sue" Lee Polk

Verna “Sue” Lee Polk passed away on June 9th 2023 at her home in Catonsville, Maryland with loved ones by her side.

Verna Polk “Sue” had a wonderful life.

She made a significant impact in the lives of so many others. She will be remembered as a selfless, compassionate, loving woman.

Verna Polk was born January 27th 1941 in Marlinton, West Virginia and resided in Catonsville, Maryland from 1963 until her death on June 9th 2023. Verna Polk is predeceased by her ex husband Robert (Butch) Harry Polk Sr as well as her twins Kimberly and William. She is survived by her 3 sons Randy, Ronnie, and Ricky, her 2 daughters Roxanna (Polk), and Rhonda (Polk Phillips) as well as her step son Robert (Bobby). Her 12 grandchildren Justin (Polk) , Jordan (Polk), Shelby (Grace), Anthony (Lord), Peyton (Lord), Rachel (Phillips), Rilee (Phillips), Haley (Polk), Lauren (Polk), Kayla (Polk), Caitlyn (Polk), and Emily (Polk). As well as her 4 great grandchildren Colton (Grace), Dominick (Grace), Delaney (Polk), and Athena (Pfeiffer).

Verna was a remarkable person and her positivity will always be remembered. She would light up any room she walked into with her beautiful smile and help anyone who needed it. She also taught her children a variety of sports which they always excelled in. She even started a women's basketball league and was always involved with the community and schools. There wasn’t many people in Catonsville that didn’t know Sue and the Polk Family.

Verna had the personality and natural charisma to make friends no matter the situation, and her laugh was infectious to everyone around her. Verna loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren more than words could have ever expressed.

Verna was a truly great woman whose impact will forever be felt by her family, who loved her dearly.

A special thank you to everyone who came to visit her in final days to show her how much she was truly loved.
