Thomas James Buckton

Thomas James Buckton, age 87, died April 28th 2022, in Baltimore, Maryland, after a battle with Alzheimers’s. Always a little early to events, Tom was born on June 21, 1934 on the steps of the hospital in Iowa Falls, Iowa. He was raised in Waterloo and graduated from West High School in 1952. He went on to earn his bachelors degree from The University of Iowa. He had a long career at Moore Business Forms. He made many places home including California, Utah, Illinois, Arizona, and Maryland. Tom started running in high school and went on to run marathons. A lover of routine and hard work, he was a daily runner into his 70’s when he took up swimming. Tom was fond of animals and cared for many large dogs, but in his later decades preferred living with cats. Tom is survived by his wife of 46 years, Anne, and his daughter, Christine Tillman (Robert), and his granddaughter, Polly. Tom’s ashes will be scattered at sea on what would have been his 88th birthday. Those wishing to make a donation in his honor should consider a local animal shelter or charity of their choice.
