Sadie Jane Sweat

Sadie Jane Sweat, was born on June 1, 1919 to Janie Sweat and Henry Weatherspoon of Summerton, South Carolina. She transitioned to Glory on April 17, 2020. She was educated in Wilmington North Carolina, public school system. Sadie attended Peabody High school located 10th and Church streets, which was dedicated for Wilmington's African American students, including African American students from the Northside. African American students were educated there until 1968. Sadie enjoyed life and her favorite color was blue. Sadie lived in Summerton, South Carolina, Wilmington, North Carolina, Springfield Massachusetts, New Jersey, and finally she lived in Temple Hills, Maryland. Sadie leaves behind to cherish her memory her 4th generation cousin, Joyce Conyers of Maryland. Whom she spent the last few great years of her life. Close relatives the Sweat, The McFadden, The Conyers, the Fridays (adoptive family) and a host of other relatives and friends like Rosa Randall and Lucille Wells from the East Coast to the West Coast. Sadie was preceded in death by her parents Janie Sweat and Henry Weatherspoon, her only sister Mary (Sweat) Cain of California, Mariah Sweat (grandmother) Annie B Sweat (Aunt), Victoria Ramous, John, and Murray Conyers, Samuel Sweat (cousins) and countless other relatives.
