Robert Kee Young Choy passed away peacefully on January 31, 2025, at the age of 87. Robert was born on August 23, 1937, in Seoul to Doo Whan Choy and Enn Park. He is reunited with his two brothers, Paul (2007) and Mike (1990), leaving behind his older sisters, Sue Young and Sue Eh. Robert’s life was marked by resilience, hard work, and a deep love for his family including its furry members.
At the age of 14, Robert left Korea for Honolulu, Hawaii. He attended high school at Mid-Pacific Institute before earning a degree in Soils Engineering from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas. His professional journey began as a junior engineer at JE Greiner in Baltimore, Maryland. Later, he pursued entrepreneurial ventures and eventually retired from a successful career in real estate development.
A very creative and talented individual with hobbies in cooking, fishing, sewing, woodworking and calligraphy (just to name a few). He loved to talk to people and always made those around him laugh.
Robert married Insook Choy and together they built a loving family. He is survived by his children: Stella (Sung W. Seo), Diane, Tina (USAR Col. Andrew Furjanic), and Bobby (Sydni Yoo). He was a proud grandfather to Stephanie, Samantha (Ian Waddell), Sophia; Michael, Kevin, Shaun; Andrew, Keira; Patrick "PJ" (USAF), Preston (USAR), and Logan. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren: Kennedy, Nash, Ciel, and Ever.
