Raymond V. Schwartz

August 9, 1929 — May 27, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Raymond V. Schwartz on May 27, 2023. He was a beloved brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, who will be deeply missed by family and friends. Raymond was born on August 9th, 1929, in Baltimore Maryland. He attended Calvert Hall high school where he played soccer. Soon after high school he married the love of his life Mary Dalfonzo and had 4 children. He is survived by his bother James Schwartz and sister Bernadette Lay. His four children Janice Schwartz, Carol Price, Martin Schwartz, and Diane Schwartz. He was also a proud grandfather of 9 grandchildren and a great grandfather of 11 great grandchildren, who brought him much joy and happiness.


In his free time, he enjoyed playing tennis, his beach house in Fenwick, traveling, watching the Orioles, and reading.


After retiring he enjoyed working with his son for 16 years at Vehicles for Change. He was also a dedicated volunteer in the Charlestown Community working as an usher at church and supporting the benevolent fund by selling furniture.


Ray will be remembered for his infectious smile, his warm personality, devout faith, and unwavering love for his family. He touched the lives of everyone he met and leaves behind a legacy of kindness and compassion.


A funeral service will be held in Ray’s honor on June 6, 2023, at 11 am., at Our Lady of Angles in the Charlestown Community. Prior to the mass, the family will be receiving guests from 10 - 11. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Vehicles for Change in Ray’s Memory.
