Nancy Moodie Powell

Agnes (Nancy) Moodie Powell, 94, died Thursday, October 14, 2021 at her home in Annapolis, MD. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Edwin Emerson Powell, Jr.; her daughter, Barbara (David) Linn of Rome, NY; 4 grandchildren, Christopher (Rachael) Linn, Rochester, NY, Alex (Stephanie) Linn, Noblesville, IN, Taylor (Katherine) Powell, New Haven, CT and Morgan Powell, Richmond, VA; 4 great grandchildren; her sister, Margaret (James) Perry of Frederick, MD, and a number of cousins in Scotland. She was preceded in death by her son, Stuart MacGregor (Pamela) Powell, age 36, in 1996 in Richmond, VA, and her great grandson, Jacob Linn, age 6, in 2021 in Noblesville, IN. She was born on December 26, 1926 in Baltimore County, Maryland and received her education at Dundalk Elementary school and Sparrows Point High School, class of 1943. Following graduation, she worked one year at Bethlehem Steel Co. metallurgical department then attended Bard Avon Business School for 2 years, after which she was employed by Bostitch-Wilson (Stanley Black & Decker) in Baltimore for 10 years. She loved her family, and enjoyed domestic and international travel, sailing, tennis, gardening, singing in the church choir and reading. A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 171 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis, Maryland on Monday, November 8, 2021 at 11am. The family will receive friends at the church from 10am until the service begins. Interment Maryland State Veterans Cemetery.
