Matiss Johan Lazdins

Matiss Johan T Lazdins, 32 years old, Woodbine, MD. passed away on May 23rd. Matiss was born in Sweden on January 1988. He attended schools in Maryland and got his degree in Economics at Grand Valley State University in Michigan. His interests were many and varied. Matiss was connected to both the Latvian and the Swedish communities. He loved playing volleyball, was a passionate gardener and enjoyed all music genres and loved playing guitar. He was an avid reader and a writer of poetry among many other interests. With love and sadness in our hearts Matiss leaves behind his two sisters, Sofia and Julia as well as his parents Juris and Christina and many close family members and cousins throughout the United States and Europe. A private, virtual memorial service was held on June 5th, 2020. Please contact the family (jlazdins@gmail.com) for a recorded link. A private burial will be held at Lake Forest Cemetery in Grand Haven, Michigan at a future time. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to www.gofundme.com in memory of Matiss Lazdins. Matiss made many friends and was kind, helpful and compassionate to all.
