Louise H. Hole, age 93, died on December 29, 2019, at her Catonsville home. She is survived by her son, Edward Earl Edwards and his wife Sarah, her daughter, Elizabeth McAlister Haynes and her husband Stan, her grandsons James Soonam Edwards and Nathaniel Hamilton Haynes, her great-grandson, two nieces, four nephews, and many friends. She was predeceased by her parents John William Hyder and Lucille McAlister Hyder, her husband Earl Edward Hole, Jr., her sisters Dolly H. Smith, Nancy H. Harrison, and Molly H. Ludwig, her niece Barbara Elizabeth Zook, and her nephew Gregory McAlister Smith. Devoted to her family, friends, students, and colleagues, Mrs. Hole was a pioneer in the field of Special Education. In addition to her years as a classroom teacher at Waverly Elementary School and Rolling Road School, for over twenty-five years she served as an administrator at The Ridge School and Ruxton Center, now Ridge Ruxton School, serving as Principal for over twenty of those years. Her legacy of innovations and initiatives will continue to benefit our community and her memory will be cherished. The family will receive friends at MacNabb Funeral Home P.A., 301 Frederick Road, Catonsville, MD 21228, on Saturday, January 18, at 10 am. A memorial service will follow at 11 am. Mrs. Hole's final resting place will be Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
