Juliann Nankervis

June 20, 1934 — August 7, 2024

Juliann Nankervis (formerly Vaughan), age 90, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2024 due to complications of dementia. She was born in Anaconda Montana on June 20, 1934. Juliann was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary, Catherine (Dubby), Anastasia and Janie; brother, Martin Jr.; her parents, Martin and Delia Vaughan; and her husband, Richard Nankervis.

Raised in Anaconda, Juli attended nursing school and then married Richard Nankervis. They had one daughter, Lynn Golebiowski. After living in Montana, California, Alabama, and Florida they settled in Beltsville, Maryland. Juli worked as a nurse for many years. After retiring she moved first to Catonsville and then to the Charlestown Retirement Community, also in Catonsville.

A lifelong volunteer for many organizations, Juli was an active member of the Ladies of the Knights and the Ancient Order of Hibernians. For many years she was an avid quilter. After moving to Charlestown, she stayed active in the walking club, line dancing, leading resident exercise classes, reading to the blind, playing “Kings in the Corner,” and just generally socializing. She was a lifelong devoted Catholic.

To the very end Juli was a sweet friend to all who knew and cared for her. She cherished her family, church, and Irish heritage. Her grandchildren Mike and Amanda in particular were the light of her life.

Her “Irish Eyes” will be shining down on us forever.

Juliann is survived by her daughter, Lynn Golebiowski and husband Mirek of Ellicott City MD, and by her grandchildren and their spouses, Michael and Casey Golebiowski of Crownsville MD, Amanda Golebiowski and Daniel Shea of Baltimore, Md. Her remains have been cremated. A private ceremony will honor her life.
