Josephine Theresa Iampieri

Josephine Theresa Iampieri, age 90, passed in her home at Encore Turf Valley on November 9, 2020 with her daughters by her side. Born April 13, 1930, in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of James and Amelia (Gargiulo) Serio. Josie attended St. Bernadine’s and graduated from Seton High School. She had a love for music, dancing, fashion, jewelry, decorating, gardening and casino’s. As an employee of the Social Security Administration in Baltimore and Salinas, California, she made numerous friends that became extended family along the way before retiring in Maryland. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Frank and his wife Rose Serio, sisters Lucille and husband George DeGele; Marie and Julie Salamone and her great grandson Tyler Chavis. Surviving are her daughters Anita (Stephen) Hook, Diane (Barry) Zell and Mary Iampieri; sibling Amelia and husband Herb Keiser; grandchildren Kristen (Doug) Chavis, Lisa (Ryan) Beaumont, Shawna (Jason) Donehoo, Stephen (Caitlin) Hook, Matthew Hook, Alex (Sarah) Hook, Tiffany (Dave) Skirka and Brandon (Rebecca) Zell; fourteen great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild; as well as many nieces and nephews. Due to COVID-19 precautions a private mass will be held for the immediate family at 10:00am on December 1, 2020 at St. Mark’s Chapel, Catonsville. Private interment will be held at a later date.
