John "Jack" Douglas Cronise

John “Jack” Douglas Cronise, 77, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2022, at St. Elizabeth Nursing Home. He was on the Gilchrist Hospice program. John was born December 18, 1944, in Baltimore, Md, to the late William and Norma Cronise and was preceded in death by his sister Patricia Cronise.

After high school, he served 4 years in the U.S. Navy ending his service on the USS Liberty in 1967. He retired in 2015 from NASA, Greenbelt, MD after 32 years. During his working career at NASA, he completed his Bachelor of Science Degree at University of Maryland in 1988.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Carol, of 55 years, son Eric Michael and wife Ryann of

Ithaca, New York, daughter Julie Anne Harrington of Arbutus, Maryland, grandsons Brandan Lurz and wife Katlin of Pennsylvania and Darian Harrington of Kentucky. He is also survived by nephew

Jeffrey Cronise and wife Diane of Arbutus, Maryland.

Service will be private and burial will be at Meadow Ridge Memorial Park in Elkridge. In lieu of flowers, contribution may be made to Gilchrist Hospice, 11311 McCormick Road, Suite 350, Hunt Valley, MD 21031.
