Helen Lynn Wagener

December 31, 1949 — June 1, 2020

Helen Lynn Wagener, 70, of Catonsville, MD departed this earthly life and transitioned to be with the Lord on Monday, June 1, 2020 at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, MD due to complications from COVID-19 Pneumonia. Lynn was born on December 13, 1949 in Easton, MD to the late Lucille Woolford and the late James Wrightson Wilson. Lynn was previously joined in holy matrimony to the late Hoss Wagener. After receiving her education in the Talbot County Public School System, Lynn held several jobs. Factory work in the newspaper industry was her usual occupation. Lynn accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior as a young girl. She was a member of Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Easton, MD. However, whenever she was in the area for a visit, you could also find her worshipping at either Asbury United Methodist Church or Union Baptist Church. Lynn loved to sing, to dance, to make people laugh and to try her luck at the slots in either the American Legion or Elks Lodge. To know Lynn, was to lover her. She was known for telling it like was and for soliciting a favor or two whenever she saw you. Ask anyone she knew and you’ll be guaranteed to hear about a memorable occasion or an encounter with Lynn. Left to cherish her memory are two brothers, George “Billy” (Connie) Wilson and Edward Sheppard of Easton, MD. Three aunts, Anita Cornish of Grasonville, MD; Lucille Wilson of Baltimore, MD and Daphne Wilson of Philadelphia, PA; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Lynn was predeceased by her parents, Lucille Sheppard and James Wrightson Wilson; her husband, Hoss Wagener; three siblings, Charles Donald Friend, Roxanne Jennifer Sheppard, and Mona Bailey; four aunts Thelma Wilson, Beulah Warren, Katherine Bowser, and an aunt who was more like a mother, Eleanor W. Gibson; seven uncles, Garfield Cornish, Harold Wilson, Joseph Wilson, Samuel Wilson, Lee Warren, Peter Bowser and Robert Gibson; a cousin who was more like a brother, Russell Allen; and a nephew, Keith Sheppard. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at a later date. Cards or expressions of condolences can be sent to George Wilson, 10 Village Street, Apt. 26, Easton, MD 21601. A special thanks to the Eastern Shore Hospital Center in Cambridge, MD, Spring Grove Hospital Center in Catonsville, MD, St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, MD and MacNabb Funeral Home in Catonsville, MD.
