Helen Dorothy Cromer

November 3, 1934 — December 11, 2021

Helen Dorothy Cromer of Baltimore, MD passed away peacefully on December 11, 2021 at Watts Assisted Living Facility. Helen was born in Baltimore, Maryland on November 3, 1934, the only child to the late Woodrow O’Dell Stevenson and Mildred Helen Kohlenberg. She is predeceased by her parents and husband, Joseph Paul Cromer, Jr. She is survived by her children Richard M. Ecker, Deborah Mastracci (Cromer), Bonnie Miller (Cromer), Donna Elliott (Cromer), and Pamela Warburton (Cromer). Helen is also survived by her grandchildren, Stephanie Holderfield, Richard Ecker, Jennifer Ecker, Chrissy Ecker, Timothy Ecker, Steven Cromer, Alyssa Miller, Michael Sheckells, Nicole Sheckells, CJ Dyson, Nicholas Pecoraro, Morgan Pecoraro, Jadon Pecoraro, Adam Warburton and her three great grandsons, and four great granddaughters. There is nothing that made Helen happier than being with her husband and surrounded by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and loyal pets Christiana and Garfield. In her younger days, she prided herself with having the cleanest windows in the neighborhood and staying home to raise her children as well as watching friends and neighbor’s children. Helen was an amazing cook and she prided herself on her desserts. With COVID quarantine, going out for her weekly hair appointments followed by lunch was put on hold. The main goal was to keep her and Joseph safe. However, knowing how much she enjoyed getting out of the house, her daughters, still would take her and Joseph for car rides and to their homes for a change of scene. More time was spent at dinner reminiscing over childhood homes and googling pictures. Family albums and pictures of times long gone brought much joy to both. Even during her final days, she critiqued her daughter’s hair, the homemade beef stew and still tried to keep track of her husband, Joseph’s location. She always asked about spouses and grandchildren and great grandchildren. No matter how she was feeling, she always enjoyed visits by her son-in-law’s. During her last days, she still knew her family and no one was forgotten, and she never stopped asking for Joseph. Services will be private. Mom - you were loved by all and devoted to your family. You are now at peace with Dad. You have taught us so much and you will be greatly missed but never forgotten, you will be part of our lives forever!
