GEORGE CLEMENT ELLERS, SR., 102 YRS. OLD WWII USCG VETERAN
On Monday, November 21st, 2022, GEORGE CLEMENT ELLERS, SR., age 102, died sleeping peacefully at his home.
A long term Catonsville resident and beloved husband of predeceased Margaret E. Ellers, and devoted father of George C. Ellers, Jr. and his wife, Michelle of Bradenton, FL, Leta Susan Schroeder and her husband Frederick of Orlando, FL and Elizabeth A. Ellers of Catonsville, MD, grandfather of Christopher, Julianna and Benjamin Schroeder and Kyle Berkeridge, great-grandfather of Madison Leta Schroeder and Grayson Couffer, he is also survived by many family and friends.
Born in Baltimore and raised by strict Catholic brothers at St. Mary's orphanage since infancy, George Sr. was an avid Baltimore Orioles fan, inspired by Babe Ruth, who visited "the boys" at his prior childhood orphanage home. George Sr. served during WWII aboard the USCG cutter USS Spencer, W-36 and was a charter member of the USS Spencer Association.
He was re known throughout Catonsville and the Baltimore area working independently as a meticulous house painter through customer referrals and impeccable reputation, while also preserving his life membership in Baltimore Local Painter AFL-CIO Union

A former Deacon at Catonsville Presbyterian Church, George Sr. and his wife Margaret were devoted life long members.
Friends and family may visit on Wednesday, November 30th, 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at MACNABB FUNERAL HOME, 301 Frederick Road, Catonsville (located at RT 695, Baltimore Beltway Exit 13) where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 1st, 11 AM. Interment following in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Family requests in lieu of flowers, those who desire may make contributions on behalf of George Sr. to International Red Cross Relief Fund.
