Felicia Mary Proud, 70 years old, of Bel Air, MD (previously Syracuse, NY) passed away suddenly on July 1, 2020 from cardiac arrest. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 12, 1949 to Vincent and Mary Internicola (Cuoco). Felicia graduated in 1967 from West Genesee High School and went on to complete her bachelor’s degree at SUNY Oswego and her master’s degree at Syracuse University. Felicia married her college sweetheart, Joseph Edward Proud on December 27, 1969. This past fall they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary and both of their 70th birthdays. Felicia was a career educator who taught at Sacred Heart and Bishop Ludden. She went on to be an administrator and counselor at St Joseph’s School of Nursing. Her career culminated as the Director of Student Services at Syracuse University, from which she retired in 2011. Felicia was predeceased by her parents and oldest sister, Roseann Cialella. Felicia is survived by her husband Joe, son Joe Proud, daughter Alison Stangle (Matt), grandsons: Ethan and Brady, sisters: Anne Marie Conley and Mary Alice Lewis (Ken), brother-in-laws: Tim Proud (Judy), Mike Proud (Robyn) and Dave Proud (Shannon) and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at a later date when it is safe to gather in large groups.
