Evelyn Darlene Jansen

On August 25, 2024, Evelyn Darlene Jansen “Evie” peacefully passed away. Born on February 10, 1933 to the late Julius and Nettie Kettner; she was the devoted mother of Terry Jansen and wife Nancy, Richard Jansen and wife Wendy, Ronald Jansen, Michael Jansen and wife Mary Jo, and her deceased son Robert Jansen; cherished grandmother to Bethany, Timothy, Christopher, Ivy, Samantha, Justin, and Taylor; loving great grandmother of Natalie, Max, Palmer, and Stella; and dear sister of the late Eugene Kettner and Wilbert Kettner.

Evelyn was born in Madison Kansas. She grew up on a farm with her two brothers. She attended Emporia State College where she met her late husband, army veteran Richard Jansen. She spent the next 26 years as a dedicated military wife and mother, travelling the world and raising her family. In 1975 she moved to Maryland where she began her 25-year career at Fort Meade Army Base, retiring as the Director of Finance in 2000. She was a dedicated employee and mother. She enjoyed bowling, reading, square dancing and spending time with her family. Her loving spirit lives on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace.

A celebration of life will be held remembering Evelyn in the presence of close family.
