Dorothy Helen Irvin, aka, Mom, Mom Mom and friend, passed away at age 90 yrs., 8 months in the loving arms of her creator on Monday March 31, 2025.
She was born in Baltimore on July 23, 1934, a time of economic hardship for many and a place of great political and social volatility.
She was the eldest of seven to Mary Fern DeForge and Thomas C. Hugel. She graduated from Eastern High School in 1951 where she studied typing and short hand. She used those skills working as a medical secretary until age 83, still using a typewriter.
She married Blaine R. Irvin in Baltimore in Jan 1954 and raised four children, Sharon, Debi, Charles, Patti. She was married to Blaine for 67 yrs. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and friend to many. She was active in her church, Bethany Lutheran in Violetville for many years until it closed. She was also active in Lutheran Mission Society of MD. for many years.
She moved to Arbutus where she remained active in local churches.
She will lovingly be remembered by her daughters, Sharon (Missaglia) Stephano, Debi (Marsh) Tim, and Patti (Gamber), her grandchildren, Brian Gamber, Jaime Marsh, Adam Marsh and wife Angie, Erik Irvin and wife Meggan, Jennifer Missaglia and husband Carmelo, Kristiana Missaglia and fiancé Omar and her five great grandchildren, Luca, Kyle, Rylan, Letizia and Penny.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Blaine R. Irvin, son Charles Irvin, and siblings, Thomas Hugel Sr., Frank Hugel, Shirley Stinebaugh, Elinor Jenkins, and Florence Weiss.
She will be interred at Baltimore National Cemetery during a private ceremony with her close family.
