Allison Henderson

Allison Henderson passed away peacefully at her home in Brookeville, MD on July 1, 2020 at the age of 59. Allison was born in Waynesburg, PA to Wayne Elliott and Sandra (Russell) Henderson. She held degrees from West Virginia State University and Kent State University. Allison had an impactful career working on education policy. She was also dedicated to her community, volunteering for many years with a local hospice as well as serving on the boards of organizations committed to advancing public education and equity. She is survived by her daughter Nicole Denier, brother Kevin Henderson, sister-in-law Kim Henderson, beloved nieces Asia and Mya Henderson, companion Bill Nance, cherished extended family, and devoted friends. As she requested, her body was cremated and will be interred at Husband Cemetery in Somerset, PA alongside her mother and grandmother. Those wishing can make a contribution in her name to CaringMatters, PetConnect Rescue, or the Montgomery College Foundation. She did not want a memorial service in this time of COVID-19, although one may be organized at a later date.
